L540 Interi 17th century Italian church vaseFishtail selenite on a stand. Fishtail selenite is made up of twin crystals of optical selenite that have grown together in the shape of angel wings or "fishtails." This crystalline form of selenite gypsum is comprised of striations that look like optical light fibers. Unusual in size, these specimens have been mined by hand in Mexico.
