The recurring pattern of flower heads cupped inside curving vines is rendered in gold, apple green and touches of eggplant on a dark brown ground. This hand made cut and loop pile rug was made by combining a loop weave invented by Asmara with the ancient French Savonnerie pile weave. Woven with a complex yarn made up several
