The patterns Kate and Jillian are both cut from a painting I did of a bird for a show called Confluence

I ended up going back to it much later with a soft lead to get some darker areas to improve the contrast

In this way I have treated patterns like Nesting

I have had it in the back of my mind for sometime that I have wanted to create a chevron
